Use cases
What one ID per customer lets you do
Once Samesake knows which records in your systems are the same person, a lot of everyday jobs get easier. Here are the ways your team can use those links in its existing work.
Answer privacy requests with confidence
Erasure requests
Mark a person as "erasure requested" and Samesake lists their linked source records in a checklist. Your team deletes in the source systems and follows progress as those changes reach the registry. Incoming details that match retained erasure checks are flagged for investigation.
Subject access requests
Search by name, email, phone or postcode to find a person’s known linked records across connected sources, including records spelt a little differently. Review other possible records too. The registry helps you identify where to begin collecting information for the request.
Keeping data only as long as you need it
Join the identity map to activity data in your own reports to assess inactivity across sources. Use that wider view to inform your retention reviews, including customers who remain active in another system.
Find and fix customer records
Find anyone, everywhere
Each person has one page showing their linked records from your connected sources and how they were linked. Search for possible additional records when you need to check coverage.
Duplicates in your CRM
Samesake compares names, contact details, addresses and dates of birth across connected sources, including variations such as nicknames and typos. It links likely duplicates without merging or deleting source records, so your team decides what to tidy up.
Before a migration or after an acquisition
Moving to a new CRM, or bringing in another company’s customers? Find out which records are the same people before you move them, instead of afterwards.
Treat each customer the same way everywhere
Opt-outs honoured everywhere
When someone opts out in one system, the identity map tells you which records in your other systems are the same person, so the opt-out can reach all of them. Your systems keep holding the consent; Samesake tells them who's who.
Bereavement
Find the person’s linked records across connected systems so your team can apply the appropriate updates and stop communications in each place.
Vulnerable customers
Use the identity map to identify the linked sales and collections records when your support team records a vulnerability. Your teams and integrations apply the appropriate updates in those systems.
Repeat complaints
Join complaint data in your own reports to the person’s linked records, so your team can bring together their contacts by phone, email and website before replying.
Credit risk and bad debt
Join your billing and quoting data through the identity map to check whether a linked customer is already on hold in another connected system.
See the whole customer in your reports
How many customers do you really have?
Count each person once, not once per system. Give the board one honest number instead of CRM, billing and support added together.
From enquiry to quote to sale
Your website form, quoting tool and sales system each hold part of the story. With one ID per person, Power BI can follow each customer from first enquiry to sale. It starts once a visitor gives their details: anonymous browsing can’t be linked.
Contacted too often, or not enough
Bring together the calls, emails and letters logged in each system, and see how often each customer hears from you. Find the ones you contact too often, and the ones nobody has spoken to in a year.
Customer value
Add up what each person spends across product lines and companies in your group, instead of counting the same customer two or three times.
Your data warehouse or customer 360 project
Samesake maintains the customer identity links for your project. Load the identity map into your warehouse through Azure Data Factory or similar tools, and join it to the data you already hold.
